How to get to Skagi Bed

Choose one of 3 aiports.

Bardufoss airport 2 hours: Daily direct flights from Oslo Gardermoen Airport. Flight Shuttle bus 50 minutes to Finnsnes city or rental car. Plus 1 hr to Skaland. 

Tromsø Langnes Airport 3 hours: A wide selection of national and international flights to Tromsø Airport. Rental car or shuttle bus to Tromsø City center. Daily departures with Express boat directly to Finnsnes port 1hr 15 min. Plus 1 hr to Skaland. 

Harstad/Narvik Evenes Airport 3 ,5 hours: Rental car 2hr 30 min to Finnsnes, plus 1 hr to Skaland.

 


From Finnsnes to Skaland by car, following R86 towards Gryllefjord, then road 861: 1 hr drive

Driving the scenic route / northern route 1hr 30 min.

There are also buses going but not on everyday basis. Let us help you if you have questions of public transportation. 

 

Car ferry all year round connecting to Tromsø: 

Brensholmen - Botnhamn car ferry has a daily, all year round schedule and therefore connects well with the Tromsø region. 

 

Summerferry Vesterålen /Lofoten:

Mid May until beginning of September has a daily car ferry Gryllefjord - Andenes, coneccting Senja to Vesterålen/ Lofoten region.

On Senja's rugged west coast, near Mt Husfjell and the fjord, your outdoor dreams awaits! Enjoy hiking, kayaking, rib tours, sea fishing, cycling, skitouring, and snowshoe hiking. Witness the mysterious Northern Lights from September to March, and the Midnight Sun in summer. Each season brings unique landscapes, colorful sunrises and sunsets and plenty of photogenic scenes.

Join safe guided excursions with Senja Wild (kayaking, hiking, skitouring, snowshoeing), Basecamp Senja (rib expeditions), and Senja Fjordcruise (sea fishing and fjord cruising). Rent bicycles, cycle wagons, paddle boards, wetsuits, kayak vests, towels, fishing rods, hiking poles, snowshoes, and more. Guests can borrow football and badminton equipment at no cost.

Skaland offers a variety of amenities, including a Joker shop, a fuel pump, an electric charging point, a campsite, a marina guest jetty, a secondhand store, and a museum of mining industry. It is located near popular attractions and viewpoints, and has friendly locals.

The starting point for the hiking trail to mount Husfjell

Skagi is located at the foot of one of the most popular summit destinations on Senja. Right outside the door you will find the starting point of the mount Husfjell. The view from Husfjell is a spectacular experience that we highly recommend. You can hike up the mountain both summer and winter.
